ARRI’s UDM-1 system measures distance by sending ultrasonic pulses between the camera array and the plane of objects. The meter is compatible with any camera system.
The measuring range can be set via the display unit (feet or meters).
The rangefinder allows you to exclude objects that are not related to focus and gives additional positive values for the focus puller.
Working with ALEXA Plus, XT Plus, XT Studio, or with the UMC-4, the distance to the subject can be displayed on the WCU-4 manual control unit. The UDM-1 meter can also be used with focus tracking function.
